Capital Sports Construction, Inc. partnered with Hancock Central High School in Sparta, GA to perform a comprehensive upgrade of the school’s athletic facilities. The project involved a full conversion of the stadium football field to synthetic turf and the installation of a brand-new synthetic running track — creating a modern, high-performance sports complex for student-athletes.
These upgrades ensure reliable, all-weather playability, improved safety, and long-term durability, while elevating the school’s athletic infrastructure to meet competitive and community standards.

Our Scope of Work
Site Design & Engineering
The first phase included detailed site evaluation of the existing turf and soil conditions, drainage behavior, and field geometry. Our team engineered a design plan incorporating proper grading, stormwater management, and base preparation to support both synthetic turf and track surfacing over time. The layout was developed to ensure compliance with athletic facility standards and long-term surface performance.
Site Construction
Construction involved removal of the previous natural field or outdated surface, followed by precision grading to set correct elevations for optimal drainage and surface consistency. We installed a compacted aggregate base engineered for heavy athletic use and efficient stormwater runoff. Sub-base preparation was completed to accommodate both the turf field and the surrounding track system.
Synthetic Turf Installation
The football field received a high-grade synthetic turf system designed for durability, athlete safety, and consistent performance under heavy usage. Components included a performance infill, secure seam and edge installation, and field markings appropriate for competition-level football.
Track Surfacing
Surrounding the new turf football field, we installed a synthetic running track using a multi-layer polyurethane surfacing system suitable for track and field events, training, and general athletic use. The surface was applied with proper base adhesion, drainage considerations, and finished to deliver athlete-appropriate traction, weather resistance, and long-term durability.
