- Enhance surface consistency, safety, and overall playability
- Reduce maintenance demands for school athletics staff
- Deliver long-term durability for high-frequency use across multiple sports seasons
Our Scope of Work
Site Design and Planning
Capital Sports Construction developed engineered plans for both fields, addressing grading, water control, turf system compatibility, and field layout requirements specific to baseball and softball. Each field required customized geometry for infield arcs, base cutouts, warning tracks, pitching areas, and runoff zones.
Site Construction
Construction activities for the baseball and softball conversions included:
- Removal of existing natural grass and infield material
- Regrading to establish correct field elevations, slopes, and water flow
- Installation of engineered aggregate base layers for stability
- Integration of drainage systems to ensure rapid water removal and reliable all-weather performance
- Preparation of sub-base structures meeting turf manufacturer specifications
These steps ensured that both fields would provide consistent footing and long-term durability.
Synthetic Turf Installation
Each field received a tailored synthetic turf system designed for baseball and softball play. Work included:
- Placement of durable monofilament turf engineered for sport-specific movements
- Installation of customized infill blends to balance cushioning and surface firmness
- Integration of detailed field markings, base cutouts, pitching circles, batter’s boxes, and warning track zones
- Final grooming and performance testing to ensure consistent play characteristics
The synthetic systems provide predictable ball response, improved traction, and reduced maintenance compared to natural surfaces.
