Capital Sports Construction, Inc. partnered with Wallace Park in Mableton, GA to complete a full conversion of an existing multi-purpose athletic field to a modern synthetic turf surface. The project enhances the park’s capacity to support year-round community athletics with reliable, safe, and consistent field performance.

The upgraded field now provides durable, all-weather playability suitable for a wide range of sports and recreation programs, improving access and reducing maintenance demands.

Our Scope of Work

Site Design and Engineering

The project began with evaluation and design work to address field geometry, slope, and drainage. Engineering plans ensured the new turf surface would rest on a stable, well-prepared foundation capable of supporting consistent athletic activity.

Site Construction

Construction involved full removal of the existing natural surface and preparation of the field base. Work included:

• Excavation and disposal of natural grass and unsuitable subgrade materials
• Precision grading to establish proper field elevations and drainage flow
• Installation of engineered aggregate base layers for structural stability
• Integration of subsurface drainage components for improved water management

This preparation created a foundation optimized for long-term synthetic turf performance.

Synthetic Turf Installation

A synthetic turf system designed for multi-purpose play was installed over the prepared base. Installation included:

• Placement of high-performance synthetic turf appropriate for soccer, football, and general recreation
• Application of performance infill to enhance cushioning and surface consistency
• Seam reinforcement and perimeter anchoring for durability under heavy use
• Final grooming and inspection to ensure a uniform, safe playing surface
